Government can and should be a force for good.
Bold, proactive leaders get us there. I know this because I've spent my career fighting for equity, combating poverty, and advocating for human rights. I will always put progress ahead of politics by bringing together diverse voices to build real solutions.
Thank you for the support, Ward 11!
I’m running for re-election to continue the work we've started to protect our environment, make homes affordable, and eliminate unacceptable racial disparities in our city. By working together, we have an opportunity to make meaningful change. I have a proven track record of advocacy and policymaking, and I am excited to build on our collective work towards a more equitable, vibrant, and sustainable Minneapolis.
I believe government can and should be a force for good. Our community is asking for bold and proactive leadership during these extremely challenging times. I’ve spent my career fighting for equity, combating poverty, and advocating for human rights in Minneapolis and across the country. I bring together people on different sides of an issue, creating consensus despite deep divides.
Our community expects this collaborative approach to ensure our City Council is doing as much as it can to improve people's lives. At a time when Minneapolis grapples with a global pandemic, racial disparities, economic inequality, and shifting demographics, you deserve a leader who moves beyond talking points and implements sensible policy solutions. You deserve a leader who will put progress ahead of politics.
VISION AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
I believe change starts with passionate, organized citizens that seize opportunities for progress. That’s why I’ve spent my career building coalitions and putting in the hard work it takes to drive us all forward. Our community is confronting historic challenges, and by coming together we can build a better future for everyone.
Minneapolis deserves an experienced housing policy expert, like me, who knows how to make real fixes that preserve and expand affordable housing and promote a healthier housing economy.
Progressive leadership means a serious commitment to climate action. I support bolder sustainability initiatives so that Minneapolis can continue to lead the nation, following science and answering the urgent call to deliver environmental justice.
Racial justice needs to be at the center of everything our City does. For too long, we accepted a status quo that did not spread prosperity equitably across Minneapolis. We have begun to unwind that troubling trend, and this work remains front and center for me going forward.
